Report by Doug Hogate Jr
JUMPS responded to Bridgeton City to investigate claims of paranormal activity in a victorian historic building, third floor apartment. The third floor was believed to be the quarters of the slave help a century ago when the building was one whole home.
The claims of activity from the client were noises that were being heard throughout the apartment, the witness of an apparition of a child seen in the bathroom one morning while she was getting ready for work, and the client's dog not wanting to go into certain areas of the apartment and randomly barking at nothing. The client claimed that the activity seemed to really be active during the Christmas holiday while her tree was up.
The team set up 3 night vision cameras in the apartment. One was set up in the bathroom attempting to capture the apparition of the child, one set up in the living room seeing the area where the client places the Christmas tree, and a third in a stairway that leads to the second floor.
During the night, while investigating in the stairway to the second floor, lead investigator Doug was taking EMF readings, when the level spiked from a .2 to a 3.4 instantly. Attempting to locate a source from the walls a ceiling, the levels were only reading 3.4 in the shape of a person standing next to lead investigator Rick. After approximately 2 minutes, the level dropped back down to .2 and did not raise high again.
Another interesting experience was during an EVP session in the living room. Lead investigators Doug & Rick were sitting on separate couches asking questions when the ceiling fan began to sway very slightly. When the team noticed this, investigator Doug attempted to walk around the living room to see if the movement was caused by walking. Unable to make the swaying continue, investigator Doug, then, looked out the window waiting for different types of vehicles to ride by seeing if the traffic could be causing the swaying. Again, unable to recreate. When Doug sat back down, lead investigator Rick's camera, then, flew off the couch he was sitting on while it was sitting on the cushion.
In the area where the Christmas tree is placed, a high EMF reading was recorded. These high readings were caused by the radiator which was made up of partial brass. Brass causes high EMF readings.
After investigating for 5 hours, the team was able to record 5 EVP's. The first two EVP's sound as if it were children were playing on a playground. On the second clip, you will hear the same thing and the suddenly stop. JUMPS concludes that this apartment haunting is residual.
